Ronald Konopaski, DDS
12th Assembly District Member
Dr. Konopaski was elected to the San Francisco Republican Central Committee in the 2004 Primary Election. At the January 2005 organizing meeting he was elected to serve as Vice Chairman for Precinct Operations, a challenging position that he successfully capped with a record number of volunteers becoming our immediate past Vice Chair for Precinct Operations.. In 2004, "Dr.K" was active in the Recall Davis Campaign and before that in 2002 he was San Francisco Co-Chair of the Bill Simon for Governor Campaign.
After retiring from dental practice in 2000, "Dr. K" ran for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for District One. Although he ran a modest campaign he succeeded in pulling in over 2000 votes. In 1980, Dr. Konopaski founded the Financial District innovative preventive dental practice called Smile America, which he successfully operated for over 20 years. He established his first private dental practice in 1971 in Westborough Square, South San Francisco.
"Dr. K" graduated from the University of Washington in 1969, obtaining his D.D.S. Degree with Honors. He served on active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 3 1/2 years from 1957-60 and remained in the Active Reserves until his retirement in 1978 with the rank of Lt. Commander.
Before his Naval service, Dr. Konopaski graduated form the University of Washington with a B.S. Degree in Pharmacy. Dr. Konopaski has lived in the Richmond District of San Francisco with his wife Frigga for the past 35 years.
