March 4, 2020 - Resolution Apposing Sanctuary City Policy
WHEREAS, in the last month, numerous city hall officials have reinforced their belief in the Sanctuary City policy and advocated that local officials not cooperate with federal immigration officers;
WHEREAS, the City and County of San Francisco acts in accordance with the “City and County of Refuge" Ordinance (also known as the Sanctuary Ordinance) passed in 1989 and the “Due Process for All” Ordinance passed in 2013 which prohibit City employees from using funds or resources to assist federal immigration officers in the enforcement of federal immigration law, and limits when City law enforcement officers may give federal immigration officers advance notice of a person’s release from a local jail;
WHEREAS, acting in accordance with the Sanctuary City laws adds to the cost of government by providing services for individuals here illegally;
WHEREAS, acting in accordance with the Sanctuary City policy reduces fairness to those legally immigrating into our City by allowing people not following our laws to enjoy a similar way of life; and
WHEREAS, acting in accordance with the Sanctuary City policy reduces safety of our City’s citizens and legal residents by leading to situations in which criminals will be released into the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the San Francisco Republican Party formally continues to oppose and condemn the City and County of San Francisco’s Sanctuary City Policies and requests that the City and County coordinate with federal immigration officers and support our law-abiding American citizens and legal residents.

September 4, 2019 - Our Response to SF Supes Resolution on the NRA as a Terrorist Organization
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors yesterday unanimously passed a resolution declaring the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization.
Drafted by District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani, the resolution states the NRA "spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence."
The NRA is the nation’s leading gun rights advocacy organization. It also offers gun safety training.
San Francisco Republican Party Chairman John Dennis states, “In a city where sidewalks are used as toilets, where city-issued, used hypodermic needles line the gutters and where 10,000 people will sleep on the streets tonight, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors needs publicity stunts like this as a distraction.”
Dennis continued, “I’m particularly disappointed my friend Supervisor Stefani led the charge on this resolution. San Francisco needs her leadership to get vagrants off the streets and to improve the safety of all San Franciscans. Nonsensical virtue signaling like this tells us she’s been subsumed by the City Hall circus.”
Dennis also stated that he is working on a resolution to present at the next SFGOP meeting declaring the San Francisco Board of Supervisors a domestic terrorist organization.
“The NRA works to make America a safer place through gun ownership. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ policies have encouraged drug addiction, homelessness and the prospect of a typhoid epidemic. Let me ask, who is the domestic terrorist organization?”
